The agreement, valued at up to £78.2m, was secured as Lot 3 under the Digital and Legacy Application Services procurement framework. The initial term includes options for a further two-year extension, allowing for continued support of the digital infrastructure.\n\nUnder the terms of the deal, Atos will provide technical leadership, delivery governance, and assurance for HMRC’s low-code platforms. The partnership is designed to modernise the tax authority’s legacy IT estate while accelerating software deployment cycles. These measures aim to improve digital interfaces for taxpayers, businesses, and civil service staff, ensuring that digital services are delivered more efficiently and effectively.\n\nThe appointment expands Atos’s public sector IT delivery footprint across UK government departments. This move aligns with broader efforts by Whitehall to consolidate legacy enterprise software into scalable cloud and low-code environments. Michael Herron, head of Atos UK&I, stated that the company is proud to expand its long-standing relationship with HMRC. He noted that Atos’s proven technical expertise in public sector transformation positions the firm well to support the delivery of better digital experiences for citizens."}
