The defence venture studio, founded by former UK national security and special forces leaders, will use the new capital to support a fresh cohort of companies. This follows its previous backing of ventures such as StirlingX and AI Score.\n\nThe group is led by senior veterans from UK special forces and intelligence agencies. Sir Jeremy Fleming, a former GCHQ director, serves as chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board. He stated that the world faces rapidly growing digital threats fuelled by geopolitical instability and the speed at which emerging technologies are turned against the UK and allied nations. Fleming added that the firm’s work enhances the ability to protect both people and businesses in these regions.\n\nThe financing was co-led by Ventura Capital and Aberdeen Investments, with continued backing from founding investor Lansdowne Partners. The round remains open to select additional strategic investors. Mo El Husseiny, managing partner at Ventura Capital, described the team as knowing where the gaps lie and filling national defence and resilience whitespaces with purpose. He noted that the firm is a key platform for security and resilience at a time when both public and private sectors demand pace, quality and innovation."}
