Equinor focuses on crucial well for Bacalhau Field Phase Two Development

Norwegian operator to drill new appraisal well in Bacalhau North

Equinor, Norway’s largest oil company, is moving forward to assess the hydrocarbons potential in its Bacalhau presalt field off Brazil. It plans to drill a crucial well in June to determine the next steps for its Santos basin development.

The company has planned a drilling campaign that will include an appraisal well at Bacalhau North. Based on the data, the company will decide what next steps are for field development.

“That will provide us with critical information to determine what the next phase is,” said Veronica Coelho (Equinor’s Brazil Country Manager), at the Houston CERAWeek by S&P Global last week.
