Chief Executive Charlie Elek observes that whilst previous generations required Dutch courage before taking to the microphone, today’s youth demonstrate greater confidence in their sober performances.\n\nThe trend aligns with broader changes in Britain’s hospitality sector, where traditional pubs face mounting pressures whilst venues offering experiential socialising flourish. Recent Kantar data reveals 59% of Gen Z, those born after 1997, abstained from alcohol consumption in the past year.\n\nLucky Voice, established in 2005 by Baroness Martha Lane Fox and partners, has adapted its business model to accommodate these shifting preferences. The chain has expanded its non-alcoholic beverage selection and diversified its offering to include corporate events and children’s parties across its six locations in London and Brighton.\n\nThe company’s strategic pivot appears to be paying dividends, with Christmas 2024 delivering record-breaking results, showing a 17% increase in sales compared to the previous year. The emergence of flexible working arrangements has also influenced customer behaviour, with some patrons extending their Sunday and weekday sessions, liberated from traditional office schedules.\n\nThis cultural shift represents a significant departure from the established norm, challenging venues to evolve their offerings to meet the preferences of a more health-conscious, entertainment-focused generation.\n\n "}
