LeakBot Expansion Sees Nationwide Mutual Roll Out To 16 US States As Water Damage Prevention Takes Centre Stage

In a significant move announced today, Ondo Insurtech’s innovative water leak detection system, LeakBot, is expanding its presence across 16 US states through its partnership with Fortune 100 insurer Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.

The expansion follows a successful pilot programme in Ohio, where the technical integration demonstrated exceptional results. The service will now be offered as a standard feature of Nationwide’s homeowners insurance package across Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Montana, Idaho, Kentucky, Indiana, Vermont, Oregon, West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois, New Hampshire, and Washington.

Customer response to LeakBot has been remarkably positive, achieving a Net Promoter Score of +87 and an impressive customer satisfaction rating of 4.9 out of 5 among Nationwide’s clientele. The commercial arrangement, while confidential, includes advance prepayments for order deployments, ensuring the expansion’s working capital requirements are fully funded.

Mark Teets, Director of Personal Lines Product Development at Nationwide, emphasised the company’s ‘Predict and Prevent’ strategy, noting the remarkable results that led to this rapid expansion. The integration of LeakBot into Nationwide’s platform represents a significant step forward in proactive water damage prevention.

Ondo CEO Craig Foster highlighted this development as a major milestone in their US expansion strategy, describing Nationwide as “the perfect anchor partner.” The expansion is particularly noteworthy as it comes with secured production capacity and doesn’t create additional working capital strain, supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Water damage represents the largest source of home insurance claims, accounting for £17 billion annually in the USA and UK combined. LeakBot’s self-install solution, which connects to home wireless networks and provides immediate leak notifications through a mobile app, has demonstrated potential to reduce water damage claims by up to 70%, according to independent research by Consumer Intelligence.
