Oil pushes higher as the EU meets to discuss Russian sanctions

Awaiting news from Europe, the push is on to find a better source of fuel to drive the EU economy as sanctions against Russia build. This, plus a return to full capacity in China after the recent lockdowns, is pushing Brent to two-month highs. As a consequence, petrol stations in the UK push up the price of a litre of petrol, but this is causing a reaction from No.10 as Boris Johnson calls out those fuel stations that are not passing on the government’s 5p a litre fuel discount.
