Tesco is the fourth supermarket to ration fruits and vegetables

Britain’s largest retailer Tesco has been named the fourth UK supermarket to ration the amount of products customers can purchase.

Aldi joined it today to announce that it has begun limiting purchases to just three items per person for peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers.

Asda and Morrisons have already announced that they will limit the number of tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce customers can buy due to tight supply.

Sainsbury’s is the only supermarket in Britain that has not imposed any restrictions on customers, leaving Sainsbury’s.

According to the British Retail Consortium, disruptions will only last for a few weeks while supermarkets in Spain and Morocco manage poor harvests.

Farmers in the UK claim that high energy prices have meant that they are unable to sow enough crops to make up the difference.

Aldi spokesperson stated that they limit peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers purchases to three per person in order to make sure as many people as possible have the ability to purchase what they need.
