The transaction marks the culmination of a two-year negotiation process, though specific financial terms remain undisclosed. Rude Health’s most recent financial reports showed impressive revenues of £23.8 million, with pre-tax profits reaching £100,000.\n\nKnown predominantly for its plant-based milk alternatives, including almond, oat, and hazelnut varieties, Rude Health has established itself as a prominent player in the UK’s alternative dairy sector. These products constitute 80% of the company’s total sales, complementing their range of cereals, mueslis, and healthy snacks.\n\nThe acquisition presents significant synergistic opportunities, with Oddlygood’s strong presence in yoghurts and desserts across Nordic and Eastern European markets complementing Rude Health’s established product portfolio. The British company’s workforce of 30 employees will remain unchanged in the immediate term, with operations continuing from their UK base.\n\nTim Smith, who assumed the role of chief executive in November 2021, will continue to lead the organisation under its new ownership. The deal also benefits approximately 30 current and former employees who hold minority stakes in the business.\n\nMs Barnard, who founded the company in 2005 with her ex-husband Nick Barnard, will transition to a consultancy role with Oddlygood, maintaining involvement while pursuing personal interests. The combined entity is expected to leverage Valio’s extensive research and development capabilities to drive future innovation and growth.\n\n "}
