Israeli trading platform eToro has agreed to acquire United States-focused online brokerage TradeZero for $231 million, a move designed to accelerate its expansion within the American market. The transaction, which is anticipated to close during the first half of 2027, will see eToro integrate TradeZero’s technology and user base to strengthen its domestic offering. The purchase price comprises cash and up to 2.5 million newly issued Class A shares of eToro stock.
Yoni Assia, co-founder and chief executive of eToro, described the acquisition as a pivotal moment for the company’s growth in the United States. He stated that the merger provides a quicker route to introducing new products to American customers while enhancing the overall service portfolio. Assia emphasised that the combination would enable faster innovation as the firm continues to develop its global financial superapp for a new generation of users. The deal allows eToro to leverage TradeZero’s differentiated technology, access to the Canadian market, and what it describes as a highly engaged community of traders.
Daniel Pipitone, co-founder and chief executive of TradeZero, welcomed the alignment with eToro as an exciting progression for the brokerage and its client base. He noted that eToro’s global platform and millions of users provide the necessary scale to speed up innovation. Conversely, TradeZero’s broker-dealer infrastructure and proprietary trading tools will reinforce a broader investing platform. Pipitone highlighted that TradeZero was established by active traders for active traders, with all activities since 2015 dedicated to serving that specific community.
TradeZero reported revenue of approximately $80 million for the year ending 30 June. eToro, which listed on the Nasdaq market in May 2025, expects the combination to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share in the first year following the completion of the deal. The acquisition underscores eToro’s strategic focus on deepening its presence in North America by combining its international reach with TradeZero’s established local infrastructure and engaged user base.
