Helium One Global Ltd has completed its first helium sale from the Galactica project in the United States, marking a significant operational milestone for the AIM-listed company as it transitions from pure exploration to production status.
Chief executive Lorna Blaisse characterised the sale as transformational, noting that the company has evolved into an exploration and production enterprise. Multiple wells have been integrated into the Galactica facility, which is progressing towards continuous round-the-clock operations. Management has secured a short-term offtake agreement whilst pursuing discussions for longer-term supply arrangements.
The joint venture is evaluating opportunities to monetise associated carbon dioxide streams alongside plans for additional development wells at the site. The dual revenue potential from helium and carbon dioxide could enhance the project’s overall economics.
At the Southern Rukwa project in Tanzania, geological modelling work continues ahead of the next phase targeting fractured basement formations. The development strategy envisions cluster wells connected to a central processing facility. PVE has been appointed to manage a farm-out process, with several parties already in discussions regarding potential participation.
Chairman Clive Carver identified several key catalysts for investors to monitor, including increased production volumes from Colorado operations, progress on the Southern Rukwa farm-out process and potential new project opportunities. The company’s ability to secure long-term offtake agreements and successfully advance the Tanzanian asset will likely prove critical to near-term valuation.
The transition to producer status represents a fundamental shift in Helium One’s investment profile, moving from pure exploration risk towards operational execution and cash flow generation. The helium market has experienced significant pricing volatility in recent years due to supply constraints, potentially providing favourable conditions for new entrants with production capacity.
