Poolbeg Pharma has raised £3.5 million through a placing at 6p per share, extending its expected cash runway into the second quarter of 2028 and funding two clinical programmes.
Poolbeg Pharma Plc has raised £3.5 million before expenses through a placing of 58,333,328 new ordinary shares at 6p each.
The issue price represents a discount of approximately 16.1% to the 7.15p closing mid-market price on 13 July 2026. Executive Chair Cathal Friel subscribed for £250,000 of shares as part of the fundraising.
Poolbeg said the net proceeds will fund the POLB 001 TOPICAL trial and its oral GLP-1 proof-of-concept trial through to completion, while strengthening its position in ongoing partnering discussions. Together with existing resources, the placing is expected to extend the company’s cash runway into the second quarter of 2028.
The new shares are expected to be admitted to AIM on 21 July 2026, subject to the placing conditions being satisfied.
The financing reduces near-term funding risk and gives Poolbeg additional negotiating capacity ahead of clinical data from POLB 001 and its oral GLP-1 programme. The trade-off for existing shareholders is dilution of approximately 8.27% and a placing price set at a material discount to the previous close.
