Three60 Energy expands North Sea decommissioning scope

EnergyBusinessCompanies10 hours ago41 Views

Aberdeen-based energy services firm Three60 Energy has extended a decommissioning contract with a major North Sea operator. The company exercised an option within the original agreement to add three new offshore assets to the scope, expanding the total programme to six assets. This move extends Three60’s duty holder responsibilities across both installation and pipeline operator scopes for the additional sites.

The expanded contract requires a tailored approach to planning, operations and execution, as each asset presents unique technical and operational complexities. To support the increased workload, Three60 has scaled its integrated Aberdeen-based team, bringing together expertise across technical, commercials and supply chain functions. The firm stated that the additional work is a strong endorsement of the safe delivery of previous projects and the confidence its customer has in its ability to manage complex programmes.

Contextually, Three60 Energy has been active in the sector this year. The firm teamed up with fellow Aberdeen companies Innovair and US offshore energy major Oil States to tackle inspection, assessment and repair of ageing oil and gas assets. It also launched a tender at the start of the year with AF Offshore Decom for a shipbroker to support the decommissioning of BP’s Andrew field. These developments occur as decommissioning activity continues to accelerate across the UK Continental Shelf.
