Greenland Mines reports new mineral value streams at Skaergaard

Greenland Mines has concluded its 2026 field program at the Skaergaard project in southeast Greenland, identifying potential value streams for vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite, iron and gallium. The company stated that these elements are currently being evaluated alongside the established palladium, platinum and gold flowsheet. No economic credit is assigned to these potential by-products at this stage, although the firm noted that gallium occurs throughout the mineralized horizons of the site.

The field campaign generated 4,480 metres of diamond drilling, yielding the first large-diameter HQ core recovered at Skaergaard. This material is intended for metallurgical variability and process-development work. Additionally, the program extracted more than 105 tonnes of bulk material from mapped and channel-sampled gold and palladium-platinum horizons. This represents a significant scale-up from previous historical mini-bulk samples, which were approximately 800 kilograms each. The collected data and physical material are required to advance the project beyond resource definition into metallurgical flowsheet development, mine planning, environmental studies and the preparation of an Initial Assessment.

In July, an updated technical report increased contained palladium-equivalent metal across resource categories by more than half while boosting grades by about 80%. The S-K 1300-compliant report now hosts 153.6 million indicated tonnes grading 1.53 grams palladium per tonne, 0.65 gram gold and 0.12 gram platinum. This represents a 36% rise in grade over the previous estimate from 2022. Dr. Bo Møller Stensgaard, president of Greenland Mines, said the campaign changed the development readiness of Skaergaard, moving the project from a large mineral resource to one supported by detailed geotechnical and environmental baseline studies.

Greenland Mines shares closed the day down 14% on the NASDAQ, with a market capitalization of $109.5 million. Separately, aluminum prices have fallen 18% since hitting a four-year high in June due to easing supply worries and new production capacity.
