Volta has officially emerged from stealth as a London-based fully vertically integrated platform dedicated to artificial intelligence infrastructure. The firm announces its debut accompanied by a strategic alliance worth $10 billion, equivalent to approximately £7.4 billion in current exchange rates, alongside an associated programme valued at roughly £3.7 billion.
The organisation intends to develop, finance and operate AI factories through the integration of institutional capital, powered land, data centres, compute resources and software under a unified platform structure. Its primary objective is to resolve significant bottlenecks regarding access to affordable funding within the sector while providing frontier labs with dependable and scalable infrastructure enabled by low-cost capital.
The launch strategy relies heavily on a partnership established in Norway involving Bitdeer. This initiative will construct an AI factory powered by NVIDIA Vera Rubin systems with a deployment capacity of 133 megawatts. Furthermore, Volta has secured financing from Azora to support the next generation of facilities developed internally. The company recently completed seed and series A funding rounds which valued its enterprise at $2.4 billion or £1.8 billion.
Sofia Gumuzio, chief corporate development officer for the firm, stated that artificial intelligence is transforming computing power from a mere technology product into critical infrastructure. She noted that meeting this demand requires a platform capable of mobilising capital and securing energy while executing at industrial scale to keep pace with innovation speeds. Volta was built specifically to address these requirements.
The company aims to enable enterprises and AI-native businesses by providing the necessary tools for growth in an increasingly competitive market environment where access to resources remains paramount for success.
