Interocean Group has established a joint venture with Baku-based Green Line Shipping to enhance energy and maritime capabilities in the Caspian region. The new entity expands Interocean’s operational footprint in Azerbaijan, merging its global standards with local delivery expertise as oil and gas activity in the area continues to gain momentum.
The venture was created through Interocean Energy Services FZCO, the company’s Dubai-headquartered Middle East business. Interocean maintains UK offices in Aberdeen and Middlesbrough, alongside operations in Angola, Canada, Ghana and Norway. Alex Clark, the group chief commercial officer, described the partnership as a significant step in strengthening the company’s position in a strategically important market. He noted that Baku serves as a key hub for maritime and offshore activity, while Green Line Shipping contributes local knowledge and a shared ambition for long-term collaboration.
Renat Rzayev, CEO and founder of Green Line, stated that the agreement represents an important development for the company as it works to strengthen maritime capabilities in Azerbaijan and the wider Caspian region. He explained that the partnership combines Interocean’s international standards and offshore experience with local operational understanding. The collaboration is focused on safe execution, responsive service and long-term value for customers, with both parties expressing a commitment to more sustainable ways of working and viewing the venture as a platform for future growth.
