Arkle Resources PLC saw its shares climb 12% to 0.73p on Friday following confirmation that drilling operations at its Erongo uranium project in Namibia have been accelerated after Phase 1 geophysical surveys identified multiple targets across two distinct mineralisation styles.
The AIM-listed exploration company disclosed that the Eastern EPL 8995 paleochannel target is now prepared for drilling, with approximately 1,500 metres of reverse circulation drilling scheduled to commence in June 2026, subject to contractor availability. The target encompasses parallel paleochannel structures, with ground HLEM surveys suggesting the presence of up to four individual sub-paleochannels.
Trenching and sampling activities are set to begin next week across a substantial uraniferous leucogranite target on EPL 8995, which measures approximately one kilometre by 700 metres. Data derived from this work will inform a fully funded 2,500-metre reverse circulation drilling programme anticipated to start during the third quarter of 2026.
Surface sampling conducted in 2025 yielded uranium grades reaching 3,855 parts per million U₃O₈ in alaskite-style samples and 2,782 parts per million U₃O₈ in calcrete-hosted samples across exploration licences EPL 8995 and EPL 8290.
Interim chief executive Rory Harding commented that the results had fast-tracked a portfolio of high-priority uranium drill targets whilst compressing the company’s exploration timeline.
The Erongo licences are situated within a uranium district that includes the Rössing, Husab, Etango, Trekkopje and Marenica projects. Arkle Resources has scheduled additional HLEM survey lines, mapping and sampling activities across EPLs 8290, 8298 and 8995 throughout the second half of 2026.
